REFLECTION: An Interactive Installation
Objective: Design and develop an interactive textile installation that explores the intersection of art, sound, and sensory engagement while interpreting the University of Missouri’s four core values: Respect, Responsibility, Discovery, and Excellence.
Overview: REFLECTION is an interdisciplinary textile exhibition created in collaboration with artist Craig Colorusso’s Sun Boxes installation. The exhibition features four interactive textile experiences inspired by Mizzou’s core values, encouraging visitors to engage with art through touch, sound, and personal reflection. Presented across three campus locations, the installation combines textile design, public art, and community engagement to create an immersive experience that connects creativity with institutional identity.

Through my collaboration with artist Craig Colorusso and his Sun Boxes installation, I wanted to explore how textile design could extend beyond traditional applications to create an immersive, multisensory experience. Drawing inspiration from the University of Missouri’s four core values—Respect, Responsibility, Discovery, and Excellence—I developed four interactive textile experiences that encouraged visitors to engage with art through touch, sound, and personal reflection. By combining tactile materials with the surrounding soundscape, I aimed to create an environment that invited curiosity, connection, and individual interpretation. Presented across three locations on Mizzou’s campus, REFLECTION brought together textile design, sound, and public art to create an accessible and engaging experience for the university community.
